Find where intent is lost
Funnel and journey analysis usually shows a small number of pages responsible for most of the loss. Those pages are where testing should begin.
Test deliberately, not constantly
A small number of well-formed tests with clear hypotheses will teach more than a long list of cosmetic changes. Record what was learned, not only what won.
